Microstructure Sensor Module

The MicroRider-G is a sensor package designed to be integrated into the nose of autonomous vehicles such as gliders and AUVs – providing for persistent direct measurements of micro-scale turbulence from remotely operated assets. 

The MicroRider-G has been successfully integrated on the following platforms on the SeaExplorer glider and the WireWalker  

Features: 

  • Internal Data Recording
  • In Situ Data Processing (ISDP)
  • 1000 m pressure rating (6000 m option available)
  • Up to four turbulence sensors:
    • 2x SPM-6000 microstructure turbulence shear probes
    • 2x FP07-1000 microstructure fast thermistors
  • Additional sensors included:
    • 1x High resolution pressure sensor
    • 2x high-accuracy accelerometers
    • 1x tilt sensor
